This past weekend the annual Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala, was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This annual event is held for the benefit of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. While this has always been a fundraising event, it has always also been a night of celebrity and stellar fashion. This particular red carpet allows stylists to be much more daring than say the Oscars, but also much more editorial than the Grammy Awards. This is where you will often see some of the most serious fashion statements of the year.
Every year there is a theme and stylists are encouraged to create looks that go along with that theme. This year’s theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology. My favorite looks are the ones that I feel like nailed the theme, or those whose dresses I was just drooling over. What were your favorite looks of the night? Let me know in the comments!

Kendall Jenner STUNNING in Versace. I love the colors used here, it was very unique in a sea of silver.

Emma Roberts in Tory Burch. I love this dress because it is so beautiful, but Tory’s aesthetic is still accessible in the “real world” I could see a young girl wearing this to her prom.
Claire Danes in Zac Posen OWNING the theme. Is a glow-in-the-dark princess dress not everyone’s dream?

Freida Pinto in Tory Burch. I really think this dress nailed the theme too without being too over the top. Sophisticated and fashion-forward.

Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein Collection. The color of this dress on her skin is divine. I just love her red carpet choices always.

Bella Hadid in Givenchy. The choice of these thigh-high boots with this dramatic dress really took this look to the next level. It went from being pretty to high-fashion in the blink of an eye. A+.

Hailee Steinfeld in H&M. Some good tailoring can get your H&M dress red carpet ready too! I love this dress.
Emma Roberts and Brie Larson were my top two! Lupita can do no wrong and, theme-wise, Clare Danes KILLED ❤
